My Lovely Necklace

As a jewelry-phobe, my collection is pretty small. I used to build my jewelry confidence by having a plethora of tiny, inconsequential necklaces on fine, skinny chains that held on minimalist charm or a tiny pendant. They were “everyday necklaces” which are totally fine, but I’m at a point where I want everything I’m wearing to entertain me somehow, and those little wispy necklaces just aren’t cutting it for me anymore.

That’s more like it. This is really striking necklace, but I like that it’s not too busy, so it can be the focus without being an eyesore, if that makes sense.
I especially love how it lays.

Not too high, not too low. It looks like one of those pieces that looks like it took a lot of thought to purchase, but not a lot of thought to wear. Imagine it over a sweater, black dress, white v-neck, button-down shirt… This is definitely a piece of jewelry that makes you look cooler than you actually are.

Weird color combinations are my bread & butter. I’m also the type of person who can’t wear burgundy pants with a mint green top because it feels too much like Christmas, so maybe I’m just bitter about seeing the same colors paired together over and over, year after year.

We get it, turquoise & coral, navy & white, red & blue… super compatible colors that are super boring together.

How about a little grey & orange pendant necklace to brighten up your day?

This warm grey and bright orange is… oddly complimentary. It stood out to me like a sore thumb while I was scrolling through Net A Porter’s clearance racks. I then noticed that there are small crystals and cubic zirconia studding each pendant, which is a pretty ballsy choice in combination with the fluorescent orange and gold tone chain.

Now, this is something I haven’t seen before: dipped gold chain. It’s long and it’s neutral – two things that go very well with the word “chain.”

I say that because I have a bright gold chain that isn’t this long, it’s more of a choker, and the bright’n’shiny-ness of it is almost more of a statement than I want to make. Making 75% of it glossy, rubbery black chain, instead, would be a great way to temper that eye-catching opulence and make it more casual.

The way that Nordstrom has styled this necklace definitely gives me some ideas…

…but I also have a little obsession surrounding baseball t-shirts, so – there’s that, too. I could see this necklace over a basic tee, just as much as a button down blouse for work. It would also compliment a monochrome look, as the gold would be a pop of color against blacks, white and grays. A little shiny never hurts an outfit, right?

PEARL LOVER & MISE EN DIOR COLLECTION

One way to create a signature in your style while exhibiting classic consistency is to invest in a piece of earring that you love and wear every single day. MISE EN DIOR earrings are my favorite pair and it is a must have in everyone's jewelry box. It pulls every outfit I wear together, and I know I will love it forever.

There is something that really touches me about personalized earring. No matter how specific the design, wearing something you love and hold close to your heart is definitely classic.

Made trendy by Coco Chanel’s saying ”A women needs ropes and ropes of pearls”, which we all agree can at times seem old fashioned. This season, however, pearls get a facelift and our heart goes out to the MISE EN DIOR Tribal earrings.  Camille Miceli, creative director of Dior accessories, revisited the iconique pearl earring and created these simple yet edgy-rock earrings.
MISE EN TRIBAL earrings are truly a hit. They are modern, edgy, beautiful, and come in various colors, pearl, pink, silver, black, blue, colored, embellished, what is sure is that there are enough combinations to seduce all of us.

It can be styled in an asymmetric way with your long and shinny hair behind one ear, or of course you can wear both at the same time!

They are the earrings I pack in my weekend-getaway bag because I know they will go with anything. Its’ design and various color that will surely earn an honorable place in your jewelry box. Always in vogue, these classic design will be cherished for many years, and many special events, to come.

"Sometimes the simplest ideas can be the most striking," explains Dior's Camille Miceli. I never thought I'd say these words, but thanks to Christian Dior, I have a newfound love for pearl. It's my new fashion love indeed!

These earrings are haute! The design in this section are fashion-forward but not too trendy. The modern, geometric lines and forms are clean and timeless, yet the details add cosmopolitan flair. The simple color palettes and use of color-neutral silver pearls, and components add to the sophistication.

Earrings Vogue: Brazil Bio-Jewelry

In lieu of the 2014 World Cup, I am excited to share with my readers a few special commemorative collection of biojóias designed by Glória Erthal Jóias da Natureza (Jewels of Nature).

The new pieces are referred to as biojóias or bio-jewelry, because they, like the many other works in the brand’s unique line, are made from delicate leaves and seeds harvested from the Brazilian soil that have been dehydrated then combined, by hand, with precious metals, including gold, platinum and copper to draw out their natural intricate textures. It is a delicate and slow process.

The pieces include famous Rio landmarks represented in the collection include; a Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) pendant; a Pão de Açucar (Sugar Loaf) pendant, and earrings and a pendant featuring the Calçade de Copacabana (the famous patterned sidewalks of Copacabana designed by Roberto Burle Marx).

The Glória Erthal Joias da Natureza jewelry line was created over a year and a half ago by entrepreneurs and designers Glória Erthal and Ana Lucia Chebabe. With a focus on nature and women’s fashion accessories, the two developed the jewelry line in the hopes of making a difference in the market through the sustainable production of timeless and original pieces.

Pearl Earrings and Jewelry Vogue: Samba

The 2014 World Cup event has brought much media attention to the Brazilian culture. Brazil is not just renowned for its rich football history, but also for its Rio Carnival.  Every year, each of the favelas – the shanty-town slums in the hills surrounding the city sends thousands of costumed dancers, musicians and floats to compete in the spectacle of the Samba Parade.

Carnival really means a lot to the Brazilians because for once during the year they get to go out and have as much fun as they can (theoretically guilt free).

Residents of the favelas are often members of a local samba school and are deeply involved with the performance and costumes of their groups. Carnival and samba are their alternative passion beyond football.

Samba is a high-energy, exciting style of dance.  Watching the talented professional dancers doing samba is extremely entertaining and enjoyable.  The dazzling, luxury costumes , usually two-pieces bikinis typically expose dancers' torsos, legs, arms and shoulders.  That enables the dancers to dance as free as possible in order to facilitate movements and body language.
Samba costumes and headdresses are often elaborated with vibrant colors. The embellishments are the keys, which may consist of sequins, rhinestones, beads or faux jewels, metallic shimmer, floral pieces, fringe and feathers.  Jewelry is all over.

Evocative and sympathetic, samba is a brilliant interpretation of the history and culture of black Brazilians, and the social and spiritual forces that are expressed in the driving beat of samba music and dance.

Can’t wait to watch the samba dance….

Earrings Vogue - Miss "Selfie," are you?

Recently, I do believe majority are talking about "selfies"....

By now, I’m sure you’ve heard of "selfies." Yes, it is a simply pictures you take, a new type of self-portrait (uploaded & post) of yourself to a social media website. “Selfie” is now Merriam-Webster approved. A perfect word of the year that says all we need to know about our techno narcissism. It has transformed into a global phenomenon.
We take "selfies" with our friends when we are out having fun at the clubs, lounges, gatherings... we take "selfies" when we are wearing an eye-catchy pearl earrings, diamonds, designer jewelry, wearing a cute or stunning outfits that you want to share with your girl friends... capturing yourself in the moment, in the absence of someone else to take the picture for you...

I heard a friend said: It's hard to miss you when you post a "selfie" everyday! Occasional "selfies" are acceptable, but posting a new picture of yourself every day isn’t necessary, it is pure unadulterated vanity...don't you agree?

Anyways, are you in the "selfie" culture yet? Boys & girls, take a "selfie". Grab your favorite mobile camera and get snapping...... sharing your precious moments with friends! :)

Marrying Diamond Earrings

Tired of failed relationship with men who turn out to be a complete waste of time? How about dating men who are ambitious, rich and successful in all aspects of their lives?

Today, I would like to put aside talking about earrings and jewelries and openly share a best kept secret circulating around the internet arena for years, in which, I was shock to find out that one of my friends, Susan, secretly enrolled to an online program called the “Millionaire Magnet” last year and has recently engaged to her “Prince Charming” - James.

In general, if you are like me, you rarely pay any attention to all of the products on the internet that claim they can help you meet “the man of your dreams”. I pretty much just roll my eyes most the time and close the website. However, my perception totally changed after I met James in Susan’s enragement party two months ago. Whether you believe or not, I am a true witness of Susan’s success as a result of her joining the program.

This Millionaire Magnet program is developed by Adrian Adair who is a certified relationship expert and founder of one of the web’s largest elite millionaire dating and matchmaking sites. Susan told me that the program gives user the instant, online access to a simple, step-by-step system which teaches you powerful secrets, techniques, and unique approach for attracting, dating, and keeping the interest of rich, successful men.

The easy to implement concepts and techniques taught in the “Millionaire Magnet System” can be used by any woman to bypass a man's rejection mechanism and attract the type of elite men usually reserved for supermodels, movie stars, and celebrities. The Millionaire Magnet is based on three simple strategies (the millionaire attraction factor) and is the easiest way to meet, attract, and marry wealthy men while creating a real relationship full of love and mutual respect with the type of man who can handle anything life throws his way.

Best of all, the step-by-step, done-for-you system inside the Millionaire Magnet guide works regardless of your age, looks, social status, or how many failed relationships you've had in the past and is even compatible with Facebook, online dating, and long distance relationships.

Here are some example Of Techniques and Concepts Taught in course:

•The #1 Thing You Must Do if you want to transform a millionaire man from a wandering bachelor into your loving, loyal husband.

•Simple Ways To Read A Man's Mind so you know exactly how he feels about you before you start dating.

•Why Wanting To Date A Rich, Successful Man shouldn't make you feel guilty and doesn't make you shallow, self-centered, or a "bad person".

•How To Quickly Identify His "Male Type" and the step-by-step instructions you need to follow to get his "type" to chase you, compete for you, and ultimately fall in love with you.

• 33 Innocent Words You Can Use In Every Interaction to make him interested in you.

• The "Seduction Snowball Effect" that makes him think about you more without any additional effort on your part.

I have to admit that I am a bit jealous of Susan. Her fiancé is so eye candy and incredibly rich. Despite how much I love Ron, my heart still wonders what my life would be if I had tried out the “Millionaire Magnet” program before I met Ron.

If I were you, I’d learn more about the program now through an online presentation. Bear in mind, the presentation goes for 20 minutes but the first 10 minutes can be a bit colloquial. Nonetheless, it gets better and better towards the end. Hereby, I wish all single woman out there best of luck and to find her very Prince Charming with or without help from “Millionaire Magnet”.

Flirting Hot Guys On The Beach

Summer is just around the corner! I can’t wait to lay down on the beautiful beach in Phuket (Thailand) with my pink bikini and stud earrings while enjoying a nice sunbath. Each year, there are over thousands of hot guys from around the world to Phuket to party hard under the full moon.

So girls, are you heading to the beach to meet some hot guys? If the answer is yes, I can assure that it's a great pickup spot (based on personal experience) as long as you make the right moves. Before you get too excited about the forthcoming romantic beach walks, unstoppable alcohol drinks and wild actions (sex),
Here are some tips you should keep in mind before you approach a hot guy:

1. Never Be Too Obvious
Flirting at the beach is pretty much like flirting anywhere. The only difference is you're probably wearing a bikini or a slim fit tank top with shiny jewelries (i.e. stud earrings). Since your appearance has already caught the hot guy’s first attention, the hardest part is out of the way. Now you just need to keep the interest going. One thing you definitely don't want to do is try to show off your assets (boobs) too much. It's not flirty when you're too obvious, like bending over to pick something up in front of him. You don't want the kind of guy that likes that kind of girl.
2. Never Dress Too Skimpy
Wearing bikinis that are overly skimpy is definitely a turnoff because that's just begging for attention and that's not hot at all. Walk over to a random guy to ask for a hand on suntan lotion could be a hit or miss. However, I wouldn’t recommend asking perfect strangers to spread oil all over you. Who knows what else they might be spreading.
3. Don't Try Too Hard
Girls at the beach can sometimes be way too pushy and forward. I remember one time my girlfriend, jenny, walked up to an American guy and immediately tried to make plans with him. The guy must felt very strange because he was not even remotely interested, but my friend just kept turning up what she thought was her charm. Needless to say it was a total disaster, and I can still recall the rejected look on Jenny’s face.
4. Don't Reel in a Hookup if You Want a Relationship
It all depends on what you are looking to achieve with the flirting: a hookup, a summer fling, or a real relationship? If you plan to wear a skimpy bathing suit, you will give the impression that you are going to reel in a hookup or a fling. But maybe that is what the both of you are looking for. It could go the other way if you plan to wear something cute but not too revealing.

Mixing Your Earrings

Have you tried mixing your earrings? That should be fun.  Symmetry is instinctively our metric for beauty; we’re genetically predisposed to favor two sides that look the same. Because of this, when it comes to jewelry, picking the right kind of earrings (i.e. pearl earrings, stud earrings, diamond earrings...etc) to put on your ears turns out to be a tricky business.

With so many covetable earring designs out there, it feels like that you have to be an expert just to sort out which pair of earrings to put on. Luckily, the designers have mastered the art of the mix.  So, the "Girl with a Pearl Earring" had a spike with a dangling crystal on her left ear – interesting!

Tips for mixing earrings:
1. Wear the biggest earring
2. Always go asymmetrical
3. Never regret
coz’ you can always change it tomorrow!

The key is to find a kind of equilibrium that goes deeper than aesthetics, honing in on personal energies or what simply makes you feel in harmony with your own style. You have to play with it.  There are no rules!

Every Woman Must Have a Little Black Dress

Do you have some place to go but not sure what to wear? The little black dress ("LBD") is the only classic that never goes out of style. Every fashionable woman’s wardrobe should have at least one little black dress which can be dressed up or down and is also perfect for any occasion. For instance, wear the dress with a jacket at any time of the day and decorate your outfit with jewelries and accessories.

There are many different styles of black dress and the style is strongly influenced by what type of accessories which complement the dress perfectly.  A strapless style LBD looks good with daring and dangling earrings. Another good way to spice up your dress is to go for a ball necklace.  Just make sure you choose either earrings or necklace for strapless dress, not both.  If you wear them together, you lose the simplicity of the dress and will appear to be trying too hard.  You may accessorize with chunky bangles and fashion jewelry for a funky casual look and expensive jewelry for a classy dressy look.

If you’re wearing a modest style dress like a long sleeve or a halter neck dress, then make sure it’s on the short side with short knee length. You simply don’t want to be too covered up. You can wear plenty of shinny bracelets with a pair of tall high heels or even wear gloves or hat together if weather permits.

If you wear a halter style LBD, you’ll be exposing your back and shoulders while drawing attention to your chandelier earrings. Don’t wear a necklace with this look unless the halter is a deep V-neck. Hair accessories are great with halter dress while sparkling barrette or hair clips also does the wonder. With such dazzling and elegant look, you will be ready to take yourself to any wedding cocktail event or party.
